Description

Andy in the corner again.
The face may be a little soft,
but still a great shot I think.

The thing that really makes this photo work is the model and his pose. So many male models are too damn serious and pleased with themselves to really make an impact. He makes this into a fun photo with some character to it.

The composition mostly works well, even though the very bottom could have been cleaned up a bit. You can see the edge of the step which may just be me who picks up on, but that made it look a bit wonky when the rest of the background feels so clean and sharp.

The colours are a bit washed out, likely since this appears to be shot entirely with natural lighting. I don't know what a better alternative would be, but to make the impact bigger, I would have liked the colours and shadows to come out a bit more. Maybe b/w would do the trick or just playing with the white balance. The light blue on the wall just makes it look a bit bland when it could be something more.

On the whole, I wish the top half of the model was more defined instead of being sunk into shadow. I feel this shot has a lot of promise and I really like the pose, but there are some problems that stop it from being an instant favourite.
